Members and invited Guests celebrated the 10th Anniversary of the Tuggeranong Men’s Shed today with a slap up meal at the Star Bistro in the Burns Club, Kambah. Joining us was our retiring Patron, Joy Birch MLA as well as other distinguished guests including Nicole Lawder MLA, Mark Parton MLA, Trish and Geoff Hoad from St Mary in the Valley Anglican Church, Col and Jan Petrie (first President of TMS), Michelle Robertson (Communities at Work), Craig Taylor (Tuggeranong Sea Scouts), Rick and Vicky Sheeren (Canberra City Lyons Club) and Scott Franklin (Bakers Delight, Lanyon).
The event was a great success with Members socialising in pleasant surroundings and reminiscing on the journey of the past decade.
Our President, Keith Gilby used the occasion to present the outgoing Patron of the Shed, Joy Birch MLA with a small gift as recognition of her years of service in the role. Joy spoke about how she had watched and encouraged the Shed’s growth over the years and was looking forward to seeing our progress in the future.
Four original members were presented with Foundation Member Certificates which confers life membership as a thanks for their loyalty and dedication to the Shed.
