Some of the Members of TMS who kept the school holiday shoppers at Bunnings fed with sausage sandwiches and drinks. Thanks to everyone who volunteered their time to help raise funds for the Shed.

This week’s guest speaker is Kate Lehmensich from the Capital Health Network. She will be giving us details about the Commonwealth Government’s “My Health Record” initiative.
As usual this month’s talk will start at 10:00 on Tuesday right after our usual Toolbox Talk.

We actually do have indoor plumbing at the Shed but in light of a request by the Continence Foundation for a prop to use at their upcoming Expo the lads in the workshop produced this marvel of engineering!
Well done Geoff and the team.

This month we will be welcoming Nick Silverton from the Lanyon Pharmacy http://lifepharmacygroup.com.au/pharmacy/lanyon-pharmacy/ at the Shed. Nick will be talking on immunisation, the upcoming flu season and other health issues. The talk will start at 10am next Tuesday the 10th.
Last week the TMS, represented by President Keith Gilby and Acting Secretary Graham Anderson, attended a Mens Shed Forum hosted by the ACT Legislative Assembly. The Forum was an initiative of AMSA (was it???) and gave Sheds across the Territory the chance to meet with and talk to our local representatives.
MLA Nicole Lawler commented that the Forum was a great succes and supported the idea of an ongoing working party to address the issues raised. TMS is looking forward to contributing to this process to advance the cause of Mens Sheds and their members in our local region.

Geoff Nicholas puts the finishing touches on a restored Royal Enfield Clock. Working with Dave Turner, the pair have spent hours returning this historic piece to its former glory. Dave estimates that the clock ticked its first tock sometime around 1920 and will continue to tell the time at his home for years to come.

This Tuesday’s talk will be from the Continence Foundation of Australia who are the national peak body promoting bladder and bowel health. Their is to have a community free of the stigma of incontinence and provide information on funding, referral and products. They will be also offering free resources to TMS members to help treat bladder and bowel control problems.
A great result for two of our woodworkers at this year’s Royal Canberra Show. Both David Turner (1933 Morgan Trike) and Harry Fernando (wooden sundial) won First Prizes. Well done!
